Although she may have been a losing finalist this time around, there are high hopes for one Iowan.
Maddie Rolfes, formerly of Dowling Catholic School in West Des Moines has been spending the last week at the world under-18 women’s hockey championship held in Finland.
The US team succumbed to a 2-1 loss to rivals Canada in the final.
Despite the setback, the silver medalist has already committed to the University of Wisconsin to play ice hockey and has been touted as a possible Olympic contender.
