SOUPER BOWL: Food Drive Sees Big Results
The Super Bowl is the second highest food consumption day behind Thanksgiving, but not everyone was busy chowing down Sunday.
The Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines asked members to donate non-perishable items instead.
It was their 6th annual Souper Bowl Food Drive, and church officials say on Sunday alone, they collected 120,000 pounds of food.
Volunteers spent Monday packing it all up to be shipped out to 40 different central Iowa food pantries.
