FUNERAL SERVICE: Murder Victim Mourned | News

Funeral services begin Thursday for a 25 year old Iowa native, killed in Colorado.

Emily Weikert was shot and killed in the parking garage of her Denver area apartment complex last Thursday. 

Police say 51-year old Robert Lewis shot Weikert and then killed himself.

Investigators say the two worked at the same bank, until Lewis was fired for harassing Weikert.

Weikert graduated from valley High School and Iowa State University.

She moved to the Denver area for a job with CoBank.

Visitation is Thursday in West Des Moines from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Hamilton’s funeral home on Westown Parkway.

Wiekert’s funeral is Friday at noon.

It will be held at West Des Moines United Methodist church on Grand Avenue.
