TRIAL PROGRAM: Adopt A Street | Community Spirit
A trial “Adopt A Street” program is set for West Des Moines. The scheme is a unique opportunity for community members, organizations, and businesses, to come together to help keep the city in shape.
Metro Waste Authority is providing a resource to help groups adopt a street for litter removal. If this program is successful in West Des Moines, Metro Waste Authority will expand the program to other communities in the greater Des Moines area.
Streets eligible for adoption in West Des Moines are:
•Grand Avenue - River Ridge Drive to Jordan Creek Parkway
•Raccoon River Drive - Grand Avenue to the town of Booneville
•S. 35th St. - Grand Avenue to Fuller Road
•Jordan Creek Parkway - Grand Avenue to Mills Civic Parkway
•Lincoln Street - South 1st Street to South 11th Street
•E.P. True Parkway - Jordan Creek Parkway to 84th Street
•S. Orilla Road. - Maffitt Lake Road to County Line Road
•Maffit Lake Road - S.W. Connector to South 56th Street
•Army Post Road - S.W. Connector to Type 3 barricades
•S. 22nd Street - Army Post Road to Maffit Lake Road
•S. 35th Street - Army Post Road to Maffit Lake Road
•S. 42nd Street - Walnut Woods Drive to Maffit Lake Road
•S. 50th Street - Grand Avenue to Mills Civic Parkway
•Walnut Woods Drive Soccer Complex to S. 42nd Street
•Browns Wood Drive - S.1st Street to S.11th Street
•Railroad Avenue - 1st Street to Grand Avenue
